A well thought out estate and succession plan will accomplish the efficient administration of the affairs of the individual in accordance with his or her wishes and unique personal circumstances. It can save thousands of dollars in taxes, probate fees, and administration costs. It can avoid any misunderstandings amongst beneficiaries, or potential beneficiaries, and prevent the need for litigation in the administration and finalization of the estate. It will provide for a person's needs and wishes during any future disability. It should not only provide peace of mind to the person making the estate plan, but alleviate any unnecessary road blocks to the expeditious resolution of the person's affairs by the loved ones left behind.


Our estate planning lawyers work closely with clients to develop a personal estate plan that will meet their individual needs and circumstances. This requires a full review of the client's affairs and often extends to consultation with the client's other professional advisors to ensure that all aspects of the estate plan remain consistent with their goals and wishes.

Our lawyers will advise clients on any transactions that may permit them to achieve their objectives in the most cost-efficient manner, including suggestions on the holding of property, designation of beneficiaries on life insurance policies, pension plans and RRSPs, setting up an inter vivos trust, preparing or amending marriage contracts, pre-nuptial agreements, cohabitation agreements, shareholder agreements, partnership agreements or other agreements which can affect the estate plan.

For those clients who are unable to attend at our offices due to illness or disability, we are pleased to be able to come to you at your residence, care home or hospital.  We are available to provide emergency services if required.
